• Image of "Minnie Lisa"

From her empirical experiences, Lädy Millard re-appropriates common iconography of femininity or female form to not only reclaim her power but also to reference the pervasive force of its imagery. In "Minnie Lisa" Lädy is depicting the sexuality of Minnie Mouse versus the Mona Lisa. And the male female juxtaposition between the sexes represented by a bow tie. As a social commentator and street anthropologist, Lädy incorporates her environment to manipulate the audience's view in the reality that they live in. Lady changes our perspective on the definition of "Lady" itself. She is not only an artist but a movement.
